Operations resume at Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited following industrial action

KINGSTON, Jamaica—Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited (KFTL) is advising that operations have resumed at the company following what it described as an “illegal” industrial action involving some members of staff, which affected terminal activities for several hours.

KFTL, in a press release Friday afternoon, said it will extend its operating hours and has implemented measures aimed at facilitating the timely processing of cargo to minimise the impact of the disruption on its customers.

“At the invitation of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, representatives of the company attended a meeting today to facilitate discussions in an effort to address the outstanding issues,” the company said.

“We are committed to addressing this matter through constructive engagement and good-faith discussions with all parties and will continue to work closely with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security toward a mutually acceptable resolution,” it added.

Claude just moved into Google Sheets — what it does to your model, the one switch to leave on, and the first job worth an hour
On 6 October Anthropic put Claude inside Google Sheets, Docs and Slides as a beta for every paid Claude plan. It reads the file you have open and only that file, it writes formulas and builds models on the sheet in front of you, and by default it asks before it changes anything. For the many businesses here that run on Google Workspace, this is the most useful tool launch since this column began, and the most important setting is the one you should never switch off.
