Workers take industrial action at Kingston Freeport Terminal

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Some employees of Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited (KFTL) have taken what the company described as “illegal industrial action”.

In a statement issued on Friday, KFTL confirmed the industrial action and said a meeting was scheduled at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security later in the day as efforts continue to address the matter.

It did not disclose the circumstances that led to the dispute or the number of workers involved.

“We remain committed to keeping you informed and will provide further updates as developments arise,” the statement said.
