BUDAPEST, Hungary – Jamaica’s Rasheed Broadbell, who could be on the verge of winning the World Championships gold medal in the 110m hurdles in Budapest, Hungary, says he uses videos of Usain Bolt as inspiration for training and competition.

Broadbell, a former sprinter at St Jago before settling on the sprint hurdles, says he watches Bolt’s world record 10.58 seconds run at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin even more than he watches hurdles races.

If there were any two things the world leader thinks he could take from Bolt and adopt, he told OBSERVER ONLINE, are the sprint legend’s competitive spirit and showmanship.

“I think he likes to compete. I mean, he’s a showman. I haven’t really brought out that side of me like the showman type but it’s in there, somewhere; I think he loves to compete and I think that’s one of my best things. I like to race. I love competing. I like running. I like running against persons that, you know, challenge me, I like challenging persons,” said Broadbell.

Broadbell, who just missed the World Championships finals last year in Eugene, Oregon but broke the Commonwealth Games record a few weeks later in Birmingham, UK, ran a personal best of 12.94 seconds to win the Jamaican championships last month.
