Charles Jr attending Agricultural Employer Labour Forum in Las Vegas
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Minister of Labour and Social Security Pearnel Charles Jr departed the island for the United States on Tuesday to attend the National Council of Agricultural Employers – Agricultural Employer Labour Forum – in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The ministry in a release on Wednesday, stated that the Annual Agricultural Labour Forum is now in its 10th iteration and brings together key leaders in the agricultural employment and labour communities from across the United States and around the world.
“Attorneys, academics, agents as well as representatives from federal agencies and foreign governments will delve into labour issues which face US agricultural employers. Recent litigation, rulemaking, changes, and reports on cutting edge legislation impacting farm and ranch operations nationwide will be highlighted, as will compliance issues, relative to agricultural employment,” the ministry said.
It added that the forum will also feature a diverse range of topics including hot topics in agricultural labour safety, tax issues relative to agricultural employment and many others.
Further, this year’s staging will feature concurrent sessions highlighting the H-2A Temporary Agricultural Visa Program.
Minister Charles Jr is scheduled to address the forum on Wednesday.
