Falmouth-based artiste Taevybz sets sight on int’l stardom
TRELAWNY, Jamaica – Budding dancehall and Afrobeat artiste Taevybz has his sights firmly set on bursting on the international scene soon.
The Falmouth, Trelawny native says he is inspired by his “uncle”, Ky-mani Marley, who is assisting to guide him on his musical journey, which started during the heights of the COVID pandemic in 2020 when he first went into the studio to record.
He revealed that his latest project, Love Story, like most of the songs he has penned, is motivated by personal experience.
“The song is based on a toxic relationship. Most of my songs are based on my feelings. I channel my emotions into the music,” he explained.
The 19-year-old Muschett High past student is satisfied with the progress of Love Story on streaming platforms and public reactions.
“Streetwise it is getting a good buzz from mostly the younger audience. I am also grateful for its performance on YouTube, Spottify and the other streaming platforms,” he said.
Other songs in the budding act’s catalogue include Top Man, DND (do not disturb), No Deal and others.
Taevybz, whose given name is Danté White, also has ambitions to pursue a career in acting like his mentor, Marley, who is known for starring in the cult classic Shottas.
