From an early age, Frass Khalifa was exposed to various genres of music including reggae, dancehall, hip-hop and rhythm and blues.

That passion he developed for music has led him on a journey to pursue a career in music.

“When I was growing up there was always music in the house. My family listened to many different genres of music. This experience helped me to develop an undying love for music which is what has fueled my desire to become a recording artiste,” he explained.

Frass Khalifa made his recording debut three years ago with ‘Chopper Liar’.

“The type of music I make has a universal appeal because I sing about topics that everyone can relate to regardless of colour, class, or creed. I’m making music for the masses because I want to be internationally known,” said Frass Khalifa.

The Trelawny-born deejay whose musical influences include Bob Marley, Agent Sasco, Professor Nuts, Busy Signal, and Vybz Kartel has his sights set on international stardom.

“My first recording was well received; it wasn’t a hit, but it opened up a lot of doors for me. I got a lot of opportunities to work with producers because of this song. So, I’d say it did what it was supposed to do.”

Frass Khalifa’s latest single ‘Rich Now’, a co-production by Sheldon and Leroy Edwards for Pandemic Records, is scheduled for a January 20 release.

“I’m looking forward to the release of this single, it has the potential to be a hit, and my team, and I plan to put a lot of promotion behind it. This year is my year. I’m not easing up,” he said.
