HGS spreads holiday cheer to SOS Children’s Village in Stony Hill
International outsourcing firm Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) spread the holiday love with its recent visit to the SOS Children’s Village in Stony Hill, St Andrew.
During the visit on Wednesday, HGS gifted the state care institution with, among other items, a laundry tub, blankets, books and other stationery. In addition, staff from HGS hosted a special holiday sing-along session with the children at the institution, complete with an afternoon lunch.
“This is the season for giving and giving for HGS means helping to uplift the communities around us. When we reached out to the institution, they said they needed a standing tub. The team there does a fantastic job providing and caring for the children and we were very happy to gift it to them,” said HGS Associate Vice President, Swee Chua.
“We didn’t just want to drop off the gifts and leave. So, we decided to engage the children at SOS with a short 45 minute sing along session, which saw our Brand Advocates leading the children in song with some holiday carols,” added Chua.
Chua shared that the company has a robust corporate social responsibility portfolio, adding that in the coming year, HGS will be rolling out its Adopt -A-Spot programme aimed at community development.
“We conduct CSR activations at least twice a month which sees us going out into the community and doing activities such as tree planting exercises, visiting with the elderly and making donations,” said Chua.
“These activities have been well received by community members and we want to go even further with our Adopt-A-Spot initiative which will see us completing a year-long project alongside a community partner,” she added.
