Jamaica probes suspected monkeypox death, reports 5 new cases
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) has revealed that an investigation is ongoing in a suspected monkeypox-related death.
The ministry made the disclosure in its latest update on the virus in which it reported five new cases of the disease locally, bringing the county’s total number of infections to 12.
The cases were reported between September 7 and 12, with the affected areas being Kingston & St Andrew (two), St Elizabeth (one), Manchester (one) and St James (one), the ministry said.
