Man killed during alleged confrontation with cops in Westmoreland

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – A 33-year-old man was shot and killed during an alleged confrontation with the police on the Whithorn main road in Westmoreland on Sunday.

He is Randol Reid, otherwise called ‘Pecos’ of Ancho district, Whithorn in the parish.

One Luger Glock pistol with a magazine containing eight 9mm rounds of ammunition were seized at the scene during the incident.

The Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau and the Independent Commission of Investigations are investigating the incident.
