National Trials: Parchment, McLeod through to 110 hurdles final
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Olympic champion Hansle Parchment eased into the final of the men’s 110 hurdles in 13.24 seconds and was quickest of all in a commanding display. Tyler Mason was second with 13.44 ahead of Dejour Russell in third with 13.66.
2016 Olympic champion, Omar McLeod, won semi-final two in 13.34 ahead of Michael Ohara in a personal best of 13.40 while Orlando Bennett won the third semis in 13.27 ahead of Rasheed Broadbell in 13.29. Damion Thomas also advanced clocking 13.45.
Meanwhile, defending champion Megan Tapper looked to be in superb form winning her 100m hurdles semi final convincingly in 12.60 seconds. The highest-ranked Jamaican in the world, Demisha Roswell of Texas Tech, was second in 12.84. Her best is 12.44, which ranks her fifth in the world.
Britany Anderson of Tumbleweed Club will enter the final with the fastest time, having cruised to 12.45 just outside her personal best of 12.40. The 2015 World champion Danielle Williams was second in 12.59 with her sister Shermaine Williams in third with 12.95.
