#PennRelays: Four Jamaican schools into girls’ 4x400m final
PHILADELPHIA, USA – Defending champions Hydel High lead a quartet of Jamaican schools into Saturday’s final of the High School girls’ 4x400m Championships of Americas at the 127th Penn Relays Carnival at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
The qualifiers were contested in a persistent cold drizzle with Edwin Allen running the fastest time in the morning session with 3:40.38. Holmwood Technical were third best overall with 3:43.61 while Hydel High was fourth best in 3:44.14.
St Catherine High is the fourth Jamaican team into the final after running 3:46.90.
Excelsior High missed the cut after they ran 3:51.67 for the 11th best time, followed by St Mary High, 3:53.58; Wolmer’s Girls, 3:54.32; Alphansus Davis, 3:55.92; and Manchester High, 3:56.89.
Bellefield High ran 4:08.15 and Petersfield High 4:20.08.
