SOE reaping success in St Catherine – police
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The police are reporting success within the first 36 hours of the declaration of the state of public emergency (SOE) in the parish of St Catherine.
According to a release from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Communications Unit (CCU), two firearms- a submachine gun and a revolver-were seized during operations within the first 36 hours of the SOE.
Three wanted men were also apprehended – two for sexual offences and the other for murder.
Also in the parish on Saturday, a police team seized one firearm with a magazine and three 9mm rounds of ammunition during an operation on Valdez Road.
Reports are that about 4:30 pm, lawmen were in the area when one Intra-tec sub-machine gun, one magazine and three 9mm rounds of ammunition were found under an old truck.
No one was arrested in relation to the seizure.
The investigation is ongoing.
