Phillip Williams, coach of St Andrew Technical High's Manning Cup team

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Last year’s beaten finalist St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) recorded their third straight victory in the ISSA/Manning Cup competition with an easy 9-0 win over Tarrant in Group D at the Collie Smith Drive field Wednesday.

The Phillip Williams-coached team was led to victory courtesy of a hat-trick from Leon Brown, scoring in the first, fourth, and 72nd minutes.

He received good support from Andre Salmon who netted a double in the 44th and 47th minutes.

Jloyd Smith (55th), Ajetai Marshall (62nd) and substitute Taraine Hall (89th) were the other scorers for STATHS.

STATHS, who is now on nine points, leads the group on superior goal difference ahead of Excelsior, who is also on nine points.

STATHS is yet to concede a goal this season, having scored 19 goals, while Excelsior have netted 17, conceding only one.

The competition continues on Friday with a full slate of matches.
