Taxi driver killed at Naggo Head Transport Centre
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A taxi driver was shot dead by a gunman at the Naggo Head Transport Centre in Portmore, St Catherine on Thursday morning.
He has been identified as 34-year-old Ansel Thomas from Greater Portmore in the parish.
It was reported that around 11 am, Thomas was standing beside a white Toyota Probox motorcar soliciting passengers when he was approached by a man on foot armed with a firearm.
Police said the man opened gunfire at him hitting him in the head. The man then escaped on foot in the area.
The now-deceased was taken by concerned residents to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
No motive has been established for the killing.
