Trough expected to generate unstable weather conditions this weekend
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A trough is projected to produce unstable weather conditions across Jamaica this weekend and early next week.
According to the Meteorological Service, the trough is associated with an area of low pressure across the southeastern Caribbean Sea.
In its three-day forecast, the Met Office said Friday’s forecast is cloudy with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms across most parishes, while Saturday and Sunday are expected to be cloudy with periods of showers and thunderstorms especially across southern parishes.
Jamaica was late last month pelted by flood rains associated with Tropical Storm Ian, costing the country an estimated $360 million to clear roads that were flooded and blocked by trees and other debris.
