NHT urges public to beware of fraudulent social media accounts advertising NHT houses for sale
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Housing Trust (NHT) is urging members of the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution as it has taken note of fraudulent social media accounts pretending to represent the organisation and advertising NHT houses for sale.
In a statement on Thursday, the trust reminded the public that NHT housing solutions are not sold through social media platforms.
“The allocation of NHT housing developments is governed by established policies and procedures, and eligible contributors must apply through the trust’s official application process,” it said.
Additionally, the NHT is encouraging members of the public to verify the authenticity of any social media page, message, or advertisement appearing to represent the organisation before sharing any information.
Anyone who encounters these social media accounts or advertisements claiming to offer NHT houses for sale are encouraged to immediately report them.
The NHT says it is actively monitoring the situation and working through the appropriate channels to address the unauthorised use of its name and branding.
Individuals may obtain information about NHT housing developments, products, and services through the organisation’s official website and authorised communication channels.
