WATCH: Queen’s death a monumental loss – PJ Patterson
Former Prime Minister PJ Patterson says the death of Queen Elizabeth II is a “monumental loss”, hailing what he said was her “total dedication to duty” and “strength of spirit”.
The queen died peacefully, surrounded by members of the royal family, on Thursday at her summer home in Scotland. She was 96.
Patterson, Jamaica’s sixth and longest-serving prime minister, fondly remembered Her Majesty in a video release.
“I will always remember her insightful discussions and incisive wit. She was graceful, astute and compassionate,” Patterson said.
“Her name will never be obliterated from the annals of human history because of her critical role and unique style in ensuring that process of evolution and those constant measures of transformation which has characterized the second Elizabethan era,” he said.
