It’s the hour of decision on The Anchor
This week’s episode of The Anchor will reveal the 8 finalists who will be selected for the final eight episodes of the first season. Their fate rests in the hands of the judges — Michael Anthony Cuff, Karen Harriott and Ian Andrews.
These lucky 8 contestants will share $1.5 million with the winner getting the lion’s share of $500,000 plus a contract on CVM TV. Last week, some came close to tears when they were assessed on-camera for the first time by three professionals who each have a critical eye as to what makes a good anchor.
Despite their lack of experience, the 20 contestants were not awed by doing their respective pieces on the nightly news set at the station. Some still have problems reading from a teleprompter — especially under pressure and reading ‘blind’. Others make simple words seem very complicated.
For those who cannot wait to see the final cut from 20 to 8 finalists, Monday night is a must. However, those viewers who miss this first broadcast, there is a weekly re-broadcast on Tuesdays at 6:30pm on CVM TV.
