Busy week for Queen Ifrica
Its is setting up to be a busy week for Reggae royalty, Queen Ifrica.
The conscious ‘Lioness on the Rise’ it set to headline two concerts at either end of the island during this week
Tonight, she heads to the One Love Reggae Concert winter series in Negril and will wrap the week at the Pulse Complex on Trafalgar Road in Kingston on Friday night as part of Studio 38’s first anniversary celebrations.
Queen Ifrica who is known for hit songs such as Below The Waist, Daddy, Keep It To Yourself and Iguana is expected that she will live up to her fans at both locations.
For the Negril gig, it will be her second appearance on the series, and according to the promoters, patrons who witnessed her performance last season are definitely expecting another exciting showing from her.
Reports out of that resort town indicate that the festival continues to gain momentum. Last Tuesday patrons were treated to one of the best show of the series, as reggae star Richie Spice rocked the house with an hour long performance that left fans satisfied.
Reggae Grammy nominee Andrew Tosh will be the featured act next Tuesday, while Tarrus Riley will perform on the December 21, with Marcia Griffiths billed for the last show date for 2011 — December 28.
Come Friday, Queen Ifrica rolls into city Kingston for the Studio 38 gig, which is all part of the bistro’s first anniversary celebrations which is in full swing. Also featured will be the popular Pulse Fashion Fix with some of Jamaica’s best designers and Pulse models and supermodels. Music will come from top Japanese selectors Acura and Kidd from Fujiyama Sound as well as old school juggler DJ Jordan from Megajamz.
