Cops kill alleged 3rd in command of ‘Ski-Mask’ gang

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The police are reporting that Jermaine Samuels, the alleged third-ranked commander of the ‘Ski-Mask’ criminal gang, was fatally shot during a confrontation with the police in Settlement district, Old Harbour Bay yesterday.

One Bersa 9mm pistol and seven 9mm rounds of ammunition were seized during the incident. The matter has since been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and the inspectorate of the constabulary.

Samuels, otherwise called ‘Badbwoy’, is said to have fled the community following the death of the gang’s reputed leader Oswyn Jarrett, otherwise called ‘Ski-Mask’, along with five other members.

Police say the ‘Ski-Mask’ gang, which operates out of Barrett Town, St James, is responsible for numerous murders, shootings, rapes and other crimes committed in western Jamaica.

Meanwhile, lawmen are urging other members of the gang, namely Marlon McIntosh, otherwise called ‘Pinky’ and Robert Miller, otherwise called ‘Robbie’ or ‘Dust’, to turn themselves in to the Freeport police by 6:00 pm tomorrow.

Anyone knowing their whereabouts is being asked to contact the Montego Bay Criminal Investigation Branch at 953-6191, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.

The police are also reminding the public that it is a criminal offence to harbour criminals.
