KINGSTON, Jamaica – Olympian Germaine Mason was laid to rest earlier this afternoon at Grange Hill in Portland following a morning service of thanksgiving at the Hagley Park Seventh Day Adventist Church, Kingston 10.
The service and burial were attended by family members and scores of athletes who came out to pay their respect to Mason, who was killed on April 20 while heading home from a party about 4:20 am when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle, which ran off the road in eastern Kingston. The police said the 34-year-old athlete was pronounced dead at hospital.
