It is a rare and beautiful thing when two hearts destined to be together find each other early in life. Such is the bond of Brianna Kaye and Christian Tinli, who became forever united on May 10, 2025, at the White Witch Golf Course in Rose Hall, Montego Bay. A testament to their Nigerian roots, the couple’s wedding was graced by over 100 family members and friends who made the journey from the continent.

Both based in the United States, their connection was organic, blossoming from a mutual friendship nurtured through their mothers. “We have known each other since kids — we have always been friends and been around each other at different functions and events, always had love and respect for each other and have always gotten along well,” Brianna shared with Tuesday Style Vows (TSV).

Their friendship began to deepen as they grew older and Christian found himself seeing her in a new, attractive light — a feeling, it turned out, that Brianna reciprocated. Christian then began his pursuit.

“At Christian’s cousin’s baby shower a few years ago, Christian began to really hit on me and from then on he was very persistent in pursuing me. After about a month of persistence we made it official and began dating,” Brianna said.

On a trip to New York on December 30, 2023, their journey towards forever was solidified.

“Christian brought me to see the Rockefeller tree, something I love to do every year so I thought it was just a regular date night. A photographer came up and offered to take our pictures in front of the tree for a fee. We took photos, closing our eyes, kissing in front of the tree. When I opened my eyes, I saw a huge ‘Will you marry me?’ sign with some of my closest friends and family present and then Christian went down on one knee in front of everyone and proposed to me,” Brianna said.

A dream two years in the making, their wedding became reality, with the venue exquisitely decorated by Tropical Weddings Jamaica, under the direction of Almarie Walters. Brianna and Christian were fans of Jamaica’s vibrant culture and romantic setting, and thought it the perfect place to say ‘I do’. While Christian looked dapper in his white tuxedo, Brianna stunned in a full-beaded, Nigerian-made trumpet gown, with a cathedral veil. Escorted by her father, Brian Kaye, Brianna walked up the aisle to the strains of Josh Groban’s You Raise Me Up, performed by saxophonist Verlando Small. With every step, she was ready to commit her future to her childhood friend-turned-soulmate. Rev Dr Norman Higgins officiated.

Junior Francis Catering ensured the festivities continued with a magnificent wedding banquet. Emotional toasts were shared, highlighted by poignant words from Brianna’s father and Christian’s mother. The couple then cut into their impressive three-tiered cake, featuring red velvet, coconut, and traditional Jamaican fruitcake, also provided by Francis. The newly-weds swayed to Jah Cure’s rendition of All Of Me, before DJ Shem got everyone in party mode, spinning Afrobeats music.

Brianna and Christian enjoyed their honeymoon in Bali.
