Yung Ras scores a double on Jamaica YouTube Trending chart
Recording artiste Yung Ras has scored a double on the Jamaica YouTube Trending chart with Confident and We Shall Rise.
Last weekend, Confident rose to #11 while We Shall Rise entered at #19. Both songs were produced by Butler Brothers, with Confident racking up more than 700,000 views on YouTube and We Shall Rise has over 331,000 views in less than two weeks of its release.
An upbeat Yung Ras is pleased with the latest turn of events in his emerging career.
“It’s a good feeling to have that achievement right now in my career. It also shows that there’s more to achieve but I give thanks for this current status,” said Yung Ras, while adding that his music is connecting with fans.
“Having two songs trending at the same time is a good feeling, it signifies that my music is connecting with people, and I’m on the right path.”
According to Yung Ras, “Confident was inspired by the memory of an amazing girl and the incredible experience we shared. The memories of her and the time we spent together remain in my head. As for We Shall Rise, it was inspired by the devastation brought on by Hurricane Melissa. My heart goes out to my fellow Jamaicans who’ve been impacted by the hurricane. Although I’m blessed to have family members who are safe, I still feel the weight of the situation and want to send out love and support to those who are struggling. As an artist, I hope my music can bring some comfort and inspiration to those affected.”
