Jakes Hotel takes on Kingston with a night of dub & roots music for charity

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Renowned boutique hotel Jakes Hotel in Treasure Beach, will be hosting what it describes as a powerful celebration of Reggae Culture, ‘Dubwise: Many Rivers To Cross,’ in aid of the Breds Foundation.

Set for Friday, January 23, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am at 10A West Kings House Road. The event brings together legendary selector David Rodigan, acclaimed reggae artiste Rorystonelove, and iconic sound system Renaissance, with an opening set by Dubwise Sound Station.

Described by organisers as more than a party, Dubwise is set up to be a cultural moment honouring the legacy and evolution of Reggae music while raising funds in support of the Breds Foundation.

The work of the Breds Foundation is concentrated in St Elizabeth and while the foundation has been critical in supporting seaside communities after hurricanes Beryl and Melissa it is an organisation committed to community development and youth empowerment.

The event represents a collaborative effort between Dubwise Jamaica, Jake’s Treasure Beach, and key figures within Jamaica’s sound system and cultural community, coming together to celebrate authentic reggae music while supporting meaningful national development.

The night will feature legendary selector David Rodigan, iconic sound system Renaissance led by Jazzy T and Delano, Acclaimed Jamaican Sound System Pioneer Rory Stone Love, one of Jamaica’s most influential cultural voices and cultural advocate and curator, Jason Panton.

“We are honored to host world-renowned DJ David Rodigan back at 10A West Kings House Road, the home of The Harder They Come and Rodigan’s favourite venue, not only for a night of exceptional entertainment, but also as a fundraiser for Breds, the Treasure Beach Foundation, which continues to play a significant role in the rebuilding of our great nation, Jamaica,” said Chairman of Jakes Hotel in Treasure Beach, Jason Henzell,.

“This event is about celebrating our musical heritage while giving back in a meaningful way,” added Jason Panton from Dubwise Jamaica. “This event is an important one because it feeds the community and the nation of Jamaica with the funding and support we receive.”

Tickets will be available at http://www.caribtix.com/manyriverstocross and cost $5,000 for general admittance and $10,000 for VIP
