Ghanaian foreign minister visits Bob Marley Museum as he wraps up working visit to Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa toured the world renowned Bob Marley Museum in St Andrew on Monday as he brought a close to a three-day working visit to Jamaica.

Minister Ablakwa was joined on the tour by members of his delegation and State Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley.

In a post on social media, Minister Fitz-Henley described the engagement with the Ghanaian foreign minister as enlightening.

” I joined my colleagues in Government today in welcoming Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablaka to Jamaica. The interaction with Minister Ablakwa was enlightening. Before he bid farewell on this visit, Minister Ablakwa was particular about visiting the Bob Marley museum as part of his keen interest in Jamaica’s rich musical and cultural standing across the globe”, Fitz-Henley commented.

Fitz-Henley noted that both Jamaica and Ghana share deep-rooted historical and cultural ties which have evolved into a strong modern partnership characterised by high-level diplomatic cooperation and mutual support.

He commented that the visit of Foreign Affairs Minister Ablakwa to Kingston “has no doubt strengthened those ties”.

Earlier on Monday, Minister Ablakwa had a bilateral meeting which was led by Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Foreign Affairs Minister, Senator Kamina Johnson-Smith.

Minister Ablakwa departed Jamaica via the Norman Manley International Airport on Monday afternoon.
