“Tonight, what you see on this stage is more than performance. It is memory. It is respect. It is culture saying to culture: I see you. Chinese traditions that carry thousands of years of wisdom… Jamaican music and rhythm that speak straight to the soul… Different roots, but one heartbeat,” said Yangsen Li as he addressed the thousands gathered at The Pinnacle, Montego Bay, Sunday, February 15, 2026 for the Chinese New Year celebrations.

The elaborate affair saw guests from both nations feasting on authentic Chinese fare, enjoying an entertainment package that included a performance by reggae-rock soul singer Tessanne Chin, and dancing under a night sky illuminated by fireworks, cementing an enduring friendship between the people of China and Jamaica.
