Notorious hit-maker Turbulence, Spanish Town native Lutan Fyah and emerging acts Torch, Chris Howell, Petrol, Robertha and Gassie Ink, are featured on the reggae beat, Happy River, which was recently released.

For singer, songwriter and producer Gassie Ink, the project was created to keep authentic reggae music alive.

“I wanted to build a rhythm that carries a joyful but conscious vibration. Reggae music has always been about uplifting people, and this project reflects that spirit,” Gassie Ink told Observer Online recently.

An experienced producer, Gassie Ink continues to build a growing catalogue rooted in classic reggae traditions. With the Happy River beat, he brings together seasoned performers and emerging talent to highlight the timeless appeal of one-drop reggae.

The songs featured on the compilation explore themes of perseverance, love, cultural pride, and spiritual awareness—core elements that have long defined the genre.

Released on the Gassie Ink label, the producer is hoping that the project will inspire, unite and positivity, while further building momentum for his future projects.

Gassie Ink, whose real name is Dave Antonio Barrett, is originally from rural St Andrew. He began his musical journey at the age of 14, playing on various sound systems.

He released his first song in August 2016 when he recorded the track New Love, which he jointly produced with Walkway 30.
