Memmalatel ‘Victory’ Morgan, the 18-year-old son of reggae artiste Mojo Morgan, has earned a scholarship to Bryant and Stratton College in Virginia Beach, one of the premier junior college baseball programmes in the United States.

In an interview with Observer Online on Friday, the right-handed pitcher at Edgewater High School in Orlando reacted to receiving the scholarship.

“It feels like a blessing and a big step forward. I have put in a lot of work to get to this point, so I am grateful for the opportunity,” said Victory, who holds dual citizenship with Jamaica and the United States.

“At the same time, I know this is just the beginning, and I am focused on continuing to develop and reach the next level,” he continued. “I’m also getting ready to train as hard as I can, to get ready for the next level of my career.”

He added, “Being a descendent of the royal family of reggae, makes me feel extremely grateful. I want to continue pushing myself and striving for the highest possible accolades.”

Victory, who will be studying Business Management at college, says the scholarship will cover his tuition fees, and will also enhance him academically and athletically at a high level.

He has been playing baseball since the age of 11.

“As a right-handed pitcher, I bring power, competitiveness, and presence on the mound. I focus on attacking hitters, staying composed in big moments, and continuing to improve my command and efficiency. I also take pride in being a complete player, so I bring athleticism, power hitting, and versatility to the game overall,” Victory shared.

He reflected on his journey.

“I started playing baseball at 11 years old with Lake Mary Little League in Florida, so it has been about seven years now. Throughout that time, I’ve played baseball across Florida and Georgia for the Florida Sluggers, IS Elite, and the Orlando Scorpions” Victory said.

“What really drew me to baseball was my cousin Tyzion, the youngest son of my uncle Peetah Morgan,” he explained. “He was the first one in our family playing at a high level from a young age, and since we were close growing up, seeing how good he was inspired me to get into the sport and take it seriously.”

Although he plays baseball for Edgewater High School’s varsity baseball team in Orlando, Victory studies with Florida Virtual School (FLVS).

One of his long-term goals is to return to Jamaica and help to develop baseball locally through the Jamaica Amateur Baseball Association.

A dynamic two-way player, Victory has drawn interest from over 30 collegiate programs following a series of standout performances, including dominant outings on the mound and impactful displays at the plate. With a projectable frame, natural athleticism, and a high developmental ceiling, he is widely regarded as a prospect with significant professional upside.

Victory’s game is built on power, composure, and an advanced work ethic. His continued development is supported by high-level training environments and a professional approach aligned with MLB-caliber standards.

His commitment to Bryant & Stratton represents a strategic step toward maximizing development, exposure, and progression to NCAA Division I baseball, with the long-term goal of reaching the MLB professional ranks.
