St Thomas taxi operator charged after allegedly stabbing spouse
ST THOMAS, Jamaica—A taxi operator has been charged with wounding with intent after he reportedly stabbed his spouse during a dispute at his home on Monday, March 30, in St Thomas.
He has been identified as 28-year-old Hadji Thompson, a taxi operator of Duhaney Pen, St Thomas.
Reports from the Morant Bay police indicate that about 8:45 am, an argument developed between Thompson and his spouse. During the dispute, he used a knife to inflict stab wounds to her body.
She was rushed to hospital and admitted in serious condition.
A report was subsequently made to the police, and an investigation was launched.
On Thursday, April 2, Thompson turned himself in and was formally charged following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
He is scheduled to appear before the Yallahs Parish Court on Friday, April 10.
