KINGSTON, Jamaica — Motorists are being advised to expect delays when using the Lime Hall main road in St Ann over the next three days.

This, as contractors working on behalf of the National Works Agency, through the Shared Prosperity Through Accelerated Improvement to Our Road Network (SPARK) Project, will be carrying out road excavation between the Lime Hall Baptist Church and Lime Hall Square.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says that as part of the road improvement works, new water lines are being placed beneath the road. Heavy equipment will therefore be at work from this Sunday, May 24 until Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Some $130 million is being spent to improve the road and water infrastructure.

Motorists travelling along the Lime Hall Road from the direction of Higgins Town, Golden Grove, and upper Lime Hall towards St Ann’s Bay may proceed via Top Road to access St Ann’s Bay.

They may also use the route through Gully Street to connect to lower Lime Hall Road, then continue toward St Ann’s Bay.

For persons travelling from the direction of St Ann’s Bay towards Lime Hall, Higgins Town or Golden Grove, they will only be able to travel along the Lime Hall Road up to the intersection before the Lime Hall Baptist Church.

Motorists wishing to continue beyond the Baptist church towards upper Lime Hall, Higgins Town, or Golden Grove may use the route through Top Road from St Ann’s Bay to Lime Hall Square.

Alternatively, those motorists may also travel along Gully Street to connect with upper Lime Hall Road.

Motorists are being urged to obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag-persons.
