Characterised by celebration, gratitude, reflection, and inspiration, Spaces Jamaica hosted a special mother-daughter brunch at Proven Place in Kingston, themed The Journey, The Legacy — bringing together an intimate circle of clients and well-wishers on Sunday, May 17. Moving beyond simple reflection, the event provided a space for inspiring stories to be shared, encouraging guests to grow and evolve together. Falling just a week after Mother’s Day, it served as the perfect tribute to the family matriarchs.
Fittingly, the celebratory atmosphere also set the stage for the debut of the 2026 Spring Issue of
The Spaces Edit magazine, highlighting designers reshaping narratives and artisans embracing innovation.
The terrace featured elegant styling by Shikima Hinds Events Concierge, paired with a tantalising menu crafted by Luxe Privé principal Jacqui Tyson. Bringing an extra layer of pampering to the event, Le Champ Cosmetics proffered a dedicated make-up lounge, ensuring guests enjoyed seamless mid-event touch-ups.
In keeping with this spirit of honouring milestones, the event was also a fitting celebration for Spaces founder and Creative Director Janelle Pantry-Coke. Having celebrated her birthday on Friday, May 15, she used the occasion to reflect and thank those who have shaped both her personal journey and the evolution of Spaces.
“I have many others [here] who I refer to as mom, who have played a part in making me who I am today. This is really an appreciation brunch. It’s the month of May. It’s the best month of the year. It’s the month that we celebrate women. And you all are strong women, women who are charting [your] path, women who are supporting each other,” Pantry-Coke said.
Throughout the afternoon, guests enjoyed delicious bites while sharing stories and experiences that ranged from the joys and challenges of motherhood to advice they would give their future selves — creating a beautiful collection of inspiration that fused celebration, wisdom, and growth.
