Stevie Face riding high with Beenie Man collab

For reggae singer Stevie Face, the growing response to If I Follow My Heart, his collaboration with dancehall icon Beenie Man, is providing fresh motivation to push his music to a wider audience.

Featured on Beenie Man’s album Eminence, the recording has been receiving strong radio support in Jamaica, while attracting attention across the Caribbean, the US, Canada, and Europe.

Stevie Face says the encouragement from radio presenters and listeners has strengthened his confidence in the song’s potential.

“I am extremely pleased with the response. The radio DJs in Jamaica have really embraced the song and we’re getting positive feedback from listeners everywhere. We’re also seeing the momentum spreading outside of Jamaica, which is exactly what we want,” he said.

Produced by Kemar “Flava” McGregor, If I Follow My Heart pairs Stevie Face’s smooth, soulful delivery with Beenie Man’s distinctive vocal style.

The collaboration gives both artistes room to bring their musical personalities to the recording, blending lovers’ rock appeal with the dancehall veteran’s unmistakable presence.

For Stevie Face, having the song featured on Eminence presents an opportunity to connect with listeners who may be discovering his work for the first time.

“Beenie Man is an icon and one of the greatest artistes Jamaica has produced. I’m proud to have this collaboration featured on his album, but for me the work is just beginning. We want to take this song as far as it can possibly go,” he said.

The hit-making singer has built his reputation on expressive vocals. He sees the current interest in the collaboration as an opportunity to strengthen that connection with long-time supporters while reaching a new generation of reggae listeners.

The next stage of the promotional campaign will centre on an official music video, which Stevie Face and Beenie Man are preparing to shoot.

“We want to create something that complements the song and gives it another push internationally. The response so far has given us a lot of confidence, and we’re going to put the necessary work behind it,” he said.

As the campaign develops, the singer remains focused on turning the encouraging response into sustained support. For him, experience has reinforced the importance of putting consistent effort behind a recording that is connecting with audiences.

“I still have the same hunger. When you have a good song and people are responding to it, you have to work it. Right now, we’re focused on building on the momentum and taking If I Follow My Heart worldwide,” said Stevie Face.
