Shaggy’s tenth annual treat at children’s hospital
Sunday, December 25, 2011
Since 2001, reggae entertainer Shaggy has been bringing cheer to patients at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in St Andrew.
Fast-foward to 10 years later, and the diamond-selling reggae act is just as enthused as he walks the wards sharing a word of comfort, smile, treats and a gift with the little ones spending the festive season at the island’s only paediatric hospital.
On Friday, Shaggy, who has become a true friend of the hospital, was back there for his annual treat, with the support of sponsors, Scotiabank, Wisynco and KFC.
The artiste is currently deep in preparation for his fundraising concert, Shaggy and Friends. The event is set for the grounds of Jamaica House on Saturday, January 7. The proceeds of the concert, to be headlined by international hip hop/ R&B act Lauryn Hill, will go towards the construction of a 15-bed cardiac intensive care unit at the Bustamante Hospital for Children.
