11 men charged for illegal quarrying
CLARENDON, Jamaica — The Police arrested and charged several men and seized heavy-duty motor vehicles during an operation in Gravel Ground, Clarendon on Friday.
Members of the Island Special Constabulary Force’s (ISCF) Agro and Environment Unit say that at about 10:00 am they conducted the operation in the community during which two pick-up trucks and a front end loader were seized and eleven men arrested.
The men who are all of Clarendon addresses are:
24-year-old Mario Whyte
25-year-old Ralston Virgo
29-year-old James Burnett
33-year-old Nikolai Tomlinson
37-year-old Alton Aransevia
43-year-old Ian Stewart
48-year-old Lloyd Walker
52-year-old Gerald Parchment
52-year-old Gerald Swaby
60-year-old Anthony Hylton
70-year-old Lincoln Simpson
They are to appear before the May Pen Resident Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, June 27 to answer to the charge of operating a quarry without a licence.
