20-y-o victim in Nannyville shooting paralysed
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 20-year-old man, who was among eight people shot and injured by gunmen in the Nannyville, St Andrew community last week has been left paralysed.
“This is the latest news we hearing from doctors is that a shot to his spine has left him paralysed,” a family member of the victim, whose name they withheld for security reasons.
Residents in the area said the 20-year-old man, a three-year-old boy and his grandmother remain in hospital after the incident.
Five other victims have been released.
A total of eight people were shot and injured on February 14 when gunmen carried out an early morning attack on a group of people playing dominoes on a sidewalk in the community.
Police say four of the seven men listed as the main suspects in the shooting have since turned themselves in.
The Constabulary Communications Network (CCN) reported that the four have been identified by their aliases, Bretty, Gravel, Drapus and Slug.
