26-y-o man stabbed to death in St Ann police lock-up
ST ANN, Jamaica — A 26-year-old inmate at the St Ann’s Bay Lock-up in St Ann was yesterday stabbed to death while another inmate was injured during a brawl at the facility.
The dead man has been identified as Carl Thyme of Goshen district in Browns Town, St Ann.
Reports from the St Ann’s Bay Police are that about 3:45 pm, Thyme and an inmate were involved in an altercation during which he was stabbed in the chest. Another inmate was also stabbed during the incident.
Both were taken to hospital where Thyme later succumbed to his injury and the other man admitted in stable condition.
The police today reported that the Inspectorate of Constabulary (IOC) is leading an investigation into the incident.
