KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade Arnold J Nicholson is scheduled to officially open the Jamaican Embassy in Brasilia, Brazil on Friday, June 14.

Nicholson is visiting the South American country from Monday, June 10 to Saturday, June 15.

He will be joined by Ambassador Paul Robotham, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, as well as by Claude Duncan and Jodi-Kaye Smith of JAMPRO and Oliver Chen of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce.

According to the Foreign Affairs ministry, the focus of the trip is on the exploration of trade and investment opportunities.

“The minister will host an Investors’ Breakfast in Sao Paulo, in collaboration with the Jamaica/Brazil Chamber of Commerce and JAMPRO.

JAMPRO will make a presentation on investment opportunities to select Brazilian investors, including on the Jamaica Logistics Hub.”

Nicholson will also engage in discussions with the Brazilian Minister of Trade and Industry, Fernando Pimentel, the Minister of Defense Ambassador Celso Amorim, and the President of the Senate, H E Renan Calheiros, as part of the official activities.
