Bargaining rights poll at Petrojam today
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) is to conduct a poll involving over 90 management, professional and technical (MPT) employees of Petrojam Limited, today.
The poll will decide a claim made by the Union of Clerical, Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE) for bargaining rights on behalf of the workers.
It will be held between 9.30 am. and 3:00 pm at the refinery, Marcus Garvey Drive, Kingston, and the ballots will be counted Friday morning at the MLSS.
Petrojam was established in 1982 and is Jamaica’s primary petroleum product supplier. It is a limited liability company; jointly owned by PDVCaribe, a subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ).
