Cartan Global talks Rio 2016 tickets in Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Cartan Global, which has the exclusive regional rights to sell tickets for the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil, visited the island today and outlined their various packages.

Established in 1899, Cartan is one of the oldest and most respected companies in the travel industry. Its sport division, Cartan Global, is based in California and provides exclusive and official travel and ticketing services to both Summer/Winter Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup.

At a press briefing at the offices of the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) Wednesday, Cartan Global was introduced as the exclusive Authorised Ticket Reseller (ATR) for 35 countries, covering the Caribbean and Latin and South America.

The Cartan team of Vice President Greg Harney, Managing Director Jay Price and Sales Manager Rony Epelbuam made a stop in Jamaica and highlighted what Cartan has on offer.

The online sales phase began in October 2015 and tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis. Cartan will be providing Gold, Silver and Bronze experiences with three levels of accommodation: deluxe, superior and standard.

The team explained that there will be daily breakfast, airport to hotel and event transportation, all day city tours, access to the exclusive Casa Cartan parties where people can watch the various sporting events away from the stadiums, and welcome and farewell dinner among the list of activities.

That Rio experience will start from as low as US$3,495. However, their packages do not include airfare.

The Rio Olympic Games in Brazil begin on August 5, with athletics starting a week later on the 12th. It will be the first time the prestigious Games will be held in South America and will feature 28 sports and 42 disciplines.

It will take place over 17 days and include approximately 10,500 athletes, representing 205 National Olympic Committees. There will be 7.5 million tickets for approximately 700 sessions.

It will cost Jamaicans approximately J$60,000 (US$562) for a Category A ticket to witness the blue-riband 100m events close to the finish line.
