Cash Plus boss to face court today

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The fraud trial of Cash Plus boss Carlos Hill is scheduled to begin in the Home Circuit Court today.

Hill is charged with fraudulently inducing, stemming from allegations that he coerced people into investing in his billion-dollar alternative investment scheme.

Hill faces seven years in prison if convicted.

He was arrested and charged in 2008 following complaints by several investors in the unregulated investment scheme, which collapsed that year.
