KINGSTON, Jamaica — A social inquiry report will determine the fate of an 18-year-old man who confessed to grabbing a gold chain from a woman’s neck to pay his debt.
Andrew Kennedy pleaded guilty with explanation to larceny from the person when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday.
The court was told that on March 11, Kennedy grabbed a gold chain from the complainant’s neck and ran.
“Mi owe somebody and dem did a pressure mi,” Kennedy explained.
Prior to fixing a date for sentencing, Chief Parish Judge Judith Pusey, requested a social inquiry report into Kennedy’s background.
