KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica Scorpions head coach Junior Bennett is upbeat after the display from some of the batsmen during a practice game at Sabina Park on Wednesday.

The squad is preparing for the Nagico Super50 regional tournament to be jointly hosted in Trinidad & Tobago and St Kitts & Nevis.

Bennett made special mention of new 50-overs captain John Campbell, who struck a century. Middle-batsman Brandon King, the scorer of an unbeaten half century and wicketkeeper/batsman Aldaine Thomas, who also made fifty, were also praised.

“It was good to see John Campbell getting a hundred. Also, Brandon King batted well for his half-century and Aldaine Thomas made another half-century. It was good to see those performances before the start of the competition,” he said.

The players broke camp on Thursday for the New Year holiday, but will resume training on Saturday and Sunday.

The Scorpions are set to depart for the tournament on Monday.
