Cop killer gets 40-year sentence

KINGSTON, Jamaica— Christopher Thomas, the man convicted of murdering Police Corporal Dave Daley in 2007 was sentenced in the Home Circuit Court Friday to 40 years in prison.

Thomas was convicted on Thursday, July 11 in a re-trial that was ordered after his first trial in 2010 ended in a hung jury.

Corporal Daley, who was assigned to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) was attacked and killed in Brook Valley, Duhaney Park, St Andrew, on February 12, 2007.
