Cops make million-dollar cocaine bust in St Elizabeth
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A St Elizabeth man was reportedly nabbed with cocaine yesterday during a police operation on the High Street main road in the parish.
The police reportedly intercepted and searched a Honda Civic motor car about 6:00 pm and found a rectangular parcel with one kilogram of compressed cocaine.
The illicit drug is valued at US$8,000 or J$1,024,000.
The man has since been taken in custody and will be interviewed in the presence of his attorney.
He is expected to be charged with possession of cocaine and dealing in cocaine however, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
He is scheduled to appear before the Manchester Parish Court on Wednesday, January 25.
