Cashan feels ‘proud, grateful and motivated’ by Grammy consideration

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Reggae singer Cashan is embracing a new milestone as her album, Here Comes Cashan, enters consideration for the Best Reggae Album category at the 2027 Grammy Awards.

For the artiste, the moment brings both personal satisfaction and renewed determination.

“I felt proud, grateful, and motivated. Seeing Here Comes Cashan considered for a Grammy is a powerful moment in my journey, and I’m excited about what lies ahead,” she said.

Produced by Temple Boss Records, the album draws on Cashan’s experiences and her love for reggae. She describes the project as a personal statement, with songs that give listeners an opportunity to connect with her identity and outlook.

“My journey and my love for reggae inspired this album. I want listeners to feel the music, connect with the messages, and understand that this is an authentic expression of who I am as an artiste,” she explained.

Cashan identifies “Take It Easy,” “Clean Heart,” “Roaring Lion,” and “Mama Love” as the tracks that best represent her as an artiste. However, she says the connection extends across the entire project.

“Every song on the album carries a part of me,” she said.

While consideration is a step in the Grammy selection process and does not constitute a nomination, Cashan is taking encouragement from the opportunity as she continues to promote the album.

Her focus remains on developing her craft and bringing her music to a wider audience.

“This milestone motivates me to keep growing, reach greater heights, and share more uplifting music with the world,” she said.
