Crime Stop increases reward for arrest of Riverton arsonists
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Crime Stop has increased the reward for information on the alleged lighting of the most recent fire at the Riverton City dump from J$50,000 to J$300,000.
Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Noel Arscott, made the disclosure in the House of Representatives this afternoon.
Arscott said that the reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in starting the fire at the dump.
However, he did not explain whether his ministry had anything to do with the increase of the reward.
During the presentation, Arscott also announced that economist Dennis Chung will chair a newly appointed board for the National Solid Waste Management Authority(NSWMA), which manages the dump.
