KINGSTON, Jamaica – Bikers and top ‘drifters’ will face-off for prizes and bragging rights at the fourth instalment of the Tyre Warehouse Speed at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in St James on Sunday.

The event is set to start at 3:30 pm.

Event promoter Junior Barnes, said the bikers left last April’s encounter feeling upstaged by the ‘drifters’ and were intent on settling the score.

“We’re expecting a dazzling display of drifting as usual. But since the drivers dominated the last event the bikers are coming to take their vengeance. It’s going to be big,” Barnes told Auto.

“We’ll also be adding some more entertainment to the package. The remote-controlled cars and helicopters will be there to keep the crowd pumped during the breaks. We’ll also be having a special guest artiste Flippa Moggela, who will be out with his Porsche,” he continued.

Sunday’s competition will see drivers tackling an obstacle course — set out with cones and directional signs. Drivers will attempt to manoeuvre the course faster than their competitors for cash prizes and a championship trophy at the end of the year.

Competitors include, Cleve ‘Cutta Hype’ Ottey, Ian Wright, Jamar ‘Skoolaz’ Kinkead, and young guns Nicholas Barnes and Chris-John Addison.

Montego Bay’s Rush Riders – known for their daredevil antics on their motorcycles – will compete for the attention of the spectators on and off the obstacle course. Among the bikers set to scorch the tarmac are Damion ‘Dunga’ Hughes, Shayan ‘Shagga’ Ferguson, Charles ‘Oney’ Reid, and Romond Gichie.

Admission is $500 for adults and $300 for children.
