KINGSTON, Jamaica – Imani Duncan-Price, the People’s National Party standard bearer for East Rural St Andrew in the upcoming general elections, has invited Jamaica Labour Party candidate Juliet Holness to a meeting.

In a letter to Holness, which was released to the media yesterday, Duncan-Price welcomed Holness to representational politics and called on her to meet with her team to discuss the Jamaica Political Code of Conduct, “within which we will engage the electorate”.

“It is my hope that we will craft a campaign rooted in the spirit of healthy debate and dialogue, which sets a solid example for our supporters and any such efforts in the future,” Duncan-Price said in the letters. “I trust that we can also agree to reach out to each other to address any concerns that arise on the ground, with the very clear understanding that our actions and reactions have the power to reverberate throughout our constituency and the nation.”

Holness, the wife of Opposition Leader Andrew Holness, was on Monday night confirmed by the JLP as the party’s standard bearer for the East Rural St Andrew constituency in the next general election.

Duncan-Price also told Holness that she is looking forward to establishing a “positive, exemplary working relationship” that will form the basis for continued service to the constituency, even after the general elections.
