EOJ summoned to another magisterial recount
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) says it has been summoned to another magisterial recount, this time for the Toll Gate Division in Clarendon South Western.
The recount is scheduled for Wednesday, December 7 at 10:00 am, the EOJ said in a news release Monday.
According to the EOJ, the Jamaica Labour Party’s candidate Radcliffe McDonald, in the final count, won by a margin of one vote. There were 23 rejected ballots.
Meanwhile, the EOJ reported last week that it had been summoned to three magisterial recounts following the local government elections last Monday.
The EOJ said it was summoned to recounts for the Ginger Ridge Division in St Catherine West Central, the Salt Spring Division in St James Central, and the Llandewey Division in St Thomas Western.
