FLA boss subpoenaed in Patrick Powell gun case
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Parish Judge Vaughn Smith this morning issued a subpoena for Lincoln Allen, chief executive officer of the Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA), to appear in court on January 23, regarding the case of businessman Patrick Powell.
Powell is charged with failure to turn over his firearm to the police.
Allen was subpoenaed to attend court and bring all statements and documents relevant to the case.
The judge issued the subpoena after the prosecution made the request in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
The prosecution also told the court that the FLA hasn’t responded or even acknowledged a request for the information.
Meanwhile, Powell’s attorney Deborah Martin told the court that she has requested the transcript of the evidence given by the investigating officer and a member of the FLA during the X6 murder trial in the Home Circuit Court.
Powell’s bail was extended for him to return to court on the same date.
